OUR CSR INITIATIVES 

The European FOOD (Fighting Obesity through Offer and Demand) programme is the largest European public-private project launched and coordinated by Edenred since 2009 in 10 EU countries, including Romania. FOOD mobilises 31 prestigious public and private partners, such as the National Institute of Public Health and the Association of Family Doctors Bucharest
-Ilfov at national level. The objective of the programme is to promote healthy eating habits, both by raising awareness of how food affects the health of employees and by reducing food waste, with a direct impact on the restaurants involved in the project. Thus, FOOD brings employees, companies and partner restaurants together to encourage a balanced lifestyle.
Edenred has made it its mission to promote healthy nutritional habits both at work and at home, with Edenred's most popular and appreciated product being the meal card, used to purchase food and hot meals.
Last year, on March 12, we celebrated 5 years of the food in Romania together with the most important voices of public authorities and business. Thus we created a platform for debate and awareness-raising on the positive impact of the collaborative partnership between the public and private sectors on Romanians' eating habits and in strengthening a strong national culture of prevention.

HOW DOES THE BENEFIT PLATFORM WORK?
The employer concludes a contract and sends a list of employees with the corresponding monthly budget. The platform works like an online store where each employee has secure access to a wide range of flexible benefits, offers and discounts, within the budget provided by the employer. The employer thus outsources a service that would have taken the company's internal resources, both time wise, as well as human or financial.
