In Romania, more than 35,000 companies are using vouchers issued by Edenred, to reward, motivate and fidelize their 1,500,000 employees.
Effective October 25, 2007 HUNGASTRO became an integral part of Edenred SRL. The merger process started in August 2007, and the activities carried out by HUNGASTRO are taken over and integrated by Edenred.
HUNGASTRO was the first local issuer of services vouchers from Romania. The company was set up in 1998 and started issuing the first vouchers in 2000.
Edenred’s History in Romania
Here is our progress and the progress of the vouchers market in Romania from 1998 and up to the present time:
March 13, 1998 - Vote on legislation regarding lunch vouchers (Law 142/1998).
January 25, 1999 - Issue of the decree for the application of the law on lunch vouchers
March 11, 1999 - Edenred becomes officially the first issuer of lunch vouchers (Operating Permit No. 001), the nominal value of one lunch voucher being lei 15,000 lei
December 31, 1999 - Edenred already has the largest network of units affiliated to the system, providing Ticket Restaurant on a daily basis to a number of 160,000 employees from 1,500 companies
October 2000 - Edenred is the first issuer of vouchers from Romania certified in the quality field, according to ISO international standards. Certificate number 207267, Bureau Veritas.
April 2003 -Edenred is the first issuer of vouchers from Romania which launches a new product: Ticket Cadou
May 2006 - Publication in Monitorul Oficial of the Law regarding the grant gift vouchers and childcare vouchers (Law 193/2006)
November 2006 - Edenred is the first issuer of childcare vouchers and the only issuer of medical vouchers from Romania
August 2007 - Edenred is consolidating its position on the Romanian market by means of launching the process of its merger with HUNGASTRO, the third player on the market of services vouchers
October 2007 - The process of merger between Edenred and HUNGASTRO is completed. The team of company Hungastro becomes an integral part of Edenred team and will continue to carry out its business at the same address from Sfântul Gheorghe.
February 2009 - Approval of Government Emergency Ordinance No. 8/2009 regarding the grant vacation vouchers
April 9, 2009 - Edenred issues the first vacation vouchers in Romania, branded Ticket Vacanţa
July 2009 - Edenred launches for the first time in Romania an online service for the geolocation of boarding houses, hotels and tourism agencies which accept payment by Ticket Vacanţa, available for free on Edenred site.
August 2009 - Edenred and CIEL form a partnership and launch a unique service in Romania, by means of which customer-companies can manage and order the vouchers issued by Edenred through the intermediary of CIEL payroll applications.
June 2010 - Further to the proposed demerger of Accor's Hotels and Prepaid Services businesses, Edenred becomes an independent company.

Serviciul de notificari prin intermediul mesajelor transmise pe telefonul dumneavoastra mobil, SMS Alert+, va ofera acum noi facilitati de urmarire a comenzilor dumneavoastra de tichete. Prin SMS Alert+ primiti codul notei de transport pentru coletul dumneavoastra si puteti urmari traseul acestuia introducând codul expedierii în câmpul corespunzator.

În câmpul corespunzator trebuie introdus întregul cod.
Serviciul SMS Alert+ este destinat în exclusivitate clientilor Edenred si va ofera rapid, gratuit si în deplina securitate informatii despre comenzile si livrarile de tichete de masa Ticket Restaurant, tichete de cadouri Ticket Cadou sau tichete de vacanta Ticket Vacanta.
